SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE 07/08

WHO ARE THE PENNY HARVEST SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE 07/08?

The quality, creativity and volume of the applications for the second annual Schools of Excellence Award far exceeded expectations.  Out of 785 Penny Harvest schools, we received dozens of applications of all shapes and sizes--from poster boards created by students to videos to slideshows.

The selection committee -- including members of the Penny Harvest Advisory Board, the Common Cents Educator Network and Common Cents senior staff -- scored the applications on the basis of the demonstrated quality of the program, the depth of their described program innovation and the overall detail and presentation of their application.

Ultimately, 26 schools earned the Penny Harvest Schools of Excellence Award 07/08 and a select group of 14 finalists were recognized as runners-up and honorable mentions.  Download the Judging Rubric and Scorecard used to select the winners and finalists for the Schools of Excellence 07/08 award.
